{"id":9271,"date":"2023-09-15T16:43:32","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T15:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icsaireland.ie\/?p=9271"},"modified":"2023-09-15T16:43:55","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T15:43:55","slug":"icsa-to-launch-icsa-life-focus-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icsaireland.ie\/icsa-to-launch-icsa-life-focus-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"ICSA TO LAUNCH ICSA LIFE FOCUS INITIATIVE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ICSA will launch the association\u2019s <strong><em>Life Focus<\/em><\/strong> initiative at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska Co Laois next week, September 19-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the spirit of <strong><em>Farmers Supporting Farmers,<\/em><\/strong> a group of ICSA farmers has come together to form ICSA<em> <strong>Life Focus<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>. <\/em><\/strong>Chair of the group ICSA\u2019s Mona O\u2019 Donoghue Concannon said that mental health and stress related issues are widespread in farming and that ICSA wants to help families experiencing problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ICSA\u2019s <strong><em>Life Focus<\/em><\/strong> group can be called upon to listen from a perspective of lived experience on issues including Farm Succession\/Failed Succession; Marriage Breakdown; Parent Alienation, Family Disputes; Mental Health; Rural Isolation; Farm Finances; Banking Issues, and more. Together they have experienced the full raft of problems and issues that can arise over the course of a farming life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of farmers are struggling massively with a whole range of issues that are having a big impact on their mental health and well-being. Too many farmers are finding it too difficult to cope, so as a group we want to get the message out to farmers that <strong><em>difficult life situations do not have to be faced alone, and if you need help, to reach out.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To mark the launch ICSA will be hosting daily panel discussions at the ICSA stand which is located at Block 3, Row 19, Stand 317.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday 19September<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Land and Family Law; Good, Bad &amp; Unspoken<\/em><\/strong><strong> @ 12.30pm with panellists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Aisling Meehan: Agricultural Solicitor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mick Larkin: Land Mobility Service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sgt Edel Burke: An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na Community Policing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday 20 September<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The Agri-Politics of Mental Health<\/em><\/strong><strong> @ 11am with panellists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Claire Kerrane TD: Sinn F\u00e9in Spokesperson on Agriculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senator Paul Daly: Fianna F\u00e1il Seanad Spokesperson for Agriculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cllr.
