CLARE FARMERS CALL FOR EXTENSION TO FLOOD SCHEME

Mar 21, 2016 | ICSA in the Media | 0 comments

It’s after reports claimed hundreds of farmers are still waiting for emergency flood relief funding, months after the bad weather.

Funding for local authorities and farmers has yet to be paid by the Department of Agriculture, while others have been told they’re not eligible for the scheme.

Applications closed in February, but the Cratloe-based General Secretary of the ICSA, Eddie Punch says the flooding was still ongoing at that stage and many people weren’t in a position to assess the full cost of the damage.
