The ICSA Vision
ICSA represents the voice of Ireland’s drystock farmers, with a clear focus on securing viable incomes and ensuring farming remains sustainable for future generations. We are committed to delivering practical, fair and effective policies that reflect the realities on the ground and support strong rural communities.
Our Mission
ICSA aims to represent our members in striving for equality for all farmers, freedom from bureaucracy and opportunity to farm.
Our Vision
ICSA is unique amongst Irish farming organisations in that it exclusively represents the voice of drystock farmers. Such a tight focus allows the ICSA to most efficiently identify and respond to the key issues concerning the beef and lamb sectors. ICSA also aims to represent the views of Ireland’s rural communities, of which agriculture forms a key part.
As Part Of This Vision, ICSA Aspires To Deliver:

Common Agricultural Policy
Fair funding for active farmers
ICSA believes CAP must prioritise active farmers, with a fairer share of funding directed towards low-income drystock sectors. Supports must deliver viable incomes, recognise environmental ambition, and reflect the realities of farming on the ground.

Product & Marketing
Fair returns from the marketplace
ICSA is committed to securing a fair share of the consumer price for farmers through improved transparency and stronger oversight of the food chain. Clear product differentiation, origin labelling, and premium market development are essential to deliver sustainable returns.

Taxation & Budget
Supporting growth and generational renewal
ICSA supports a fair and enabling taxation system that rewards productive farming, facilitates generational renewal, and enhances competitiveness. Budgetary policy must prioritise farm viability and ensure agriculture is supported, not undermined.

Animal Health & Welfare
Protecting herds and livelihoods
ICSA advocates for effective disease control programmes that protect both animal health and farm incomes. Farmers must be fully supported and fairly compensated, while all regulations must be practical and workable on the ground.

Rural Development
Strong farming, strong rural communities
ICSA believes vibrant rural communities depend on a strong farming sector. Policy must support farm families, recognise the central role of agriculture, and ensure balanced regional development through investment in infrastructure and services.
